Noël Egberts


Noël Egberts (1965), Tax Consultant, is founder and managing partner of Trade Facilitation B.V. Noël has specialised in litigating and advising multinationals, small and medium-sized businesses, governments and legal service providers. He has extensive experience in economical customs regulations and in implementing them. On top of that, he supports executive boards of a number of companies in optimizing their supply chain with regard to tax.


Noël is often invited to give lectures and training with regard to Customs and International Trade.

For the purpose of improving the economic activities of the Netherlands, Noël has more than once collaborated with the Dutch embassy’s in e.g. Japan, Korea, Israel, Brazil and Turkey. He writes about topic issues for the Trade Facilitation periodic newsletter and he publishes in-depth articles about specific topics from the customs and international trade practices. Noël is co-writer of the book ‘Fiscal Logistics’. The book gives an insight of the most important legal and fiscal aspects of the international movement of goods. Furthermore, Noël has worked for the European Committee and he can, after many years of litigation, take credit for an amendment of the law.

Hans Roodzant

 

Hans Roodzant (1966), legal counsel trade & customs, has been a partner at Trade Facilitation B.V. since 2019. He is a senior professional in the field of Customs & International Trade and has more than 25 years of experience in customs legislation, business administration and government relations. Hans has worked at a corporate level for companies like Philips and NXP. Hence, at the forefront of strategic customs planning, internal control frameworks and integral tax planning.

 

Hans has been involved as an industry representative of Digital Europe and the Semiconductor Industry Association in the Trade Contact Group of the European Commission in the development of the Union Customs Code. He has also participated in industry contributions for the development of World Customs Organisation HS Explanatory Notes and industry specific rules of non-preferential and preferential origin.

 

Hans regularly writes articles on contemporary customs subjects in the periodical newsletter of Trade Facilitation as well as publications regarding practical issues from the world of customs and international trade.

Jan Willem van Gijzen

Jan Willem van Gijzen (1964), Customs Specialist, has been a partner in Trade Facilitation B.V. since 2013. Jan Willem specialises in advising companies on licence application and implementation in case of special regulations and special customs regulations.

 

In addition, Jan Willem facilitates companies in the application and implementation process and in setting up control measures for the purpose of acquiring or maintaining the Authorised Economic Operator status.

 

Being an interim-specialist for customs and international trade operations Jan Willem is keen on customs projects involving change management. He especially likes to run projects that aim for more effective and efficient customs operations management. His expertise on software applications is a key feature.

 

Jan Willem writes articles on topic issues in the periodic Trade Facilitation newsletter. He also publishes articles on customs and international trade practices that are relevant to our customers.

René van den Heuvel

René van den Heuvel (1968), advisor customs & international trade, has been a partner since 2020. He is specialized in integration and optimization of customs legislation within various company processes. He has more than 25 years of experience in the field of customs legislation and maintaining good relationships with customs authorities and other governmental authorities.

 

René has more than 20 years of experience in operational environments within leading logistic organizations like UPS and FedEx. Furthermore he has worked at a corporate level for companies like Philips and Signify. In this capacity René participated in advisory boards like “Overleg Douane Bedrijfsleven” , Lighting Europe for the development of HS Explanatory Notes for industry specific products and Commission Douane Wetgeving within VNO-NCW.

 

René likes to fulfil the position of interim manager where optimization in the field of customs & international trade, internal controls and improving company results are leading.

Jan Mahulete

 Jan Mahulete (1955), advisor customs and international trade, partner of Trade Facilitation B.V. since 2022.  

Jan specializes in broad consultancy in the field of customs on a strategic and policy level, but also on a legal and operational level. Furthermore, given his years of experience as a manager and extensive knowledge, he is employable as an interim manager.  

 

Jan has more than 40 years of experience in the customs business, first as customs officer and later for 13 years as customs and international trade advisor at three of the big four offices. 

 

Furthermore, he has worked as a European manager for Sony Europe and Texas Instruments. In that capacity he was also a member of the European trade associations  Digital Europe and the European Semiconductor Industry Assocation, respectively.

 

Subsequently, he worked at Kuehne+Nagel Netherlands as national customs manager and as COO at Gaston Schul. 

 

In addition to these activities, Jan was also a board member of the Dutch Association for Forwarding & Logistics (Fenex) from 2015 and in that capacity chairman of the Customs Logistics Council of Fenex, member of the Dutch Customs and Industry Consultation and member of the Customs and Indirect Tax Committee of the European Assocation for Forwarding, Transport, Logistics and Customs services (CLECAT) in Brussels.
